What Do the Tarot Cards Reveal for The Full Moon In Aquarius? A Reading For Each Zodiac Sign.

A spread of tarot cards displayed on a dark purple reading cloth

Summer is still in full swing, though the kids have gone back to school. Another cycle completes, another begins, and yet others continue. This is what the moon has to teach us, and why inherently, many of us in the spiritual mindset prefer to relate in moon cycles: Everything is always ebbing and flowing. Nothing is still. Nothing is permanent.

We're all built to keep moving forward, to flow with the cycles of time and space, to drift along with the seasons and the moons and the tides and the winds. This is one gift of the human experience: The feeling of progression and movement through the elements of change and transformation.

In this spirit, I offer a look at what themes are in store for you using your sun sign for this cycle of the full moon in Aquarius on August 19. The fruit is ripe and ready to harvest as completed growth serves to nourish, and new growth has room to flourish.

More on the deeper astrological themes of this full moon here.

Aries: With the Queen of Cups, your inner emotional healing journey is coming into focus. Hopefully during this cycle you're finding ways to nurture your heart, hold space for emotions to flow through (instead of denying or suppressing them) and learning how to listen to that quiet inner voice of intuition leading you into more loving situations.

Taurus: Page of Cups points to a playful, fun, romantic period in life. Don't be afraid to get a little sentimental. Cultivate joy. Drop the cynicism and lean into your sincerity. It takes courage to be playful and own your happiness. Be brave and reap your rewards. How can you take that childlike wonder into places like the DMV or your job, or find joy in life's unexpected detours? Alternatively, this full moon could bring some news or communication about a budding romance or friendship.

Gemini: Feeling like you're not in control of your own destiny is a real bummer and leads to feelings of powerlessness, despair and sometimes apathy. The Wheel of Fortune's role often serves to push you into a new and more expansive chapters. How can you use misfortune OR luck to your advantage? How has life asked you to take more of an active role in your own destiny? It's time to step up to the plate if you want to play the game.

Cancer: All this compassion from the King of Cups has you feeling more accepting of your emotions, which, in turn, allows them to flow through in a healthier way. This could also indicate some of you are literally making strides in therapy or therapeutic practices. Keep going. This energy is peaking for you at the moment, serving you with tools, techniques, awareness and coping skills that are moving you forward with emotional maturity and warmth.

Leo: Imposter syndrome is a bitch, and you're finally coming out of small thinking about what the story of your life can be. Page of Swords is all about writing a new story and leaning into curiosity, but can also manifest as feeling timid about speaking up or owning your expertise. You're editing the inner monologue to be clearer and more assertive. This could also mean the full moon brings exciting communication or news about intellectual pursuits, classes or learning opportunities.

Virgo: You have been enjoying a fertile period of manifestations coming to life in your real world. Nurturing dreams takes a lot of energy, and The Empress understands that this energy must be replenished through self-care. This is a reminder that: Rest is always productive. Energy and essence are currencies more powerful than money. You are worthy to receive. Abundance comes in many forms, but you have to be open to receiving it. If not now, when?

Libra: The Five of Wands can feel like scattered energy. Are you feeling distracted? Like you have to be too many places at once? It can also feel like you have a lot of things you want to do, but without the time or focus to do them all. Remember that life is a game of capacity. You don't have to do it all today, this week or even this month. Pick small, achievable goals and don't beat yourself up over an unfinished to-do list. Such is life.

Scorpio: Are you always the "good guy" or the "nice person"? What part of your personal expression are you holding back or have you been holding back? The Devil is asking you to face your fears of being seen, in all your vulnerability and humanness. You didn't come here to be perfect, to hide behind a label or to please others. You came to learn, grow and face your mistakes and your fears with courage. Free yourself. There is so much more to who you are and what you are capable of if you learn what's true for YOU.

Sagittarius: Living it up is encouraged! The Ten of Pentacles is a pinnacle of physical and material abundance - good health, good food, good times with family (or chosen family). It can also speak to generational healing, planning for future generations and using resources to their maximum capacity. A cycle has matured in terms of your resources. Enjoy this moment of harvest before it's time to plant new seeds. Eat, drink and be merry! (And make sure to invite others to the feast.)

Capricorn: The Queen of Pentacles is a wonderful steward of her resources, generous and caring, nurturing and loving. She's one who brings food to friends going through a tough time. She loves to garden, happy to share her extra tomatoes with neighbors when there's enough. Have you been feeling the spirit of generosity lately? It's probably because you've felt secure and safe in your environment and in your body. Perhaps you've been taking better care of your physical, financial or environmental health (hell, why not all three?). Keep it up.

Aquarius: "Don't Worry, Be Happy" is a great song title, but a very challenging way to actually live. The Nine of Swords is a card of insomnia, worry, anxiety, and extra mental energy that has no productive channel in which to flow out, so it creates a negative thinking loop. Some practical advice: Get out of your head. Whatever works for you, make time for it. Taking small meaningful actions (e.g., if you're worried about someone, write them a letter) can also help redirect the loop and put you back in the driver's seat.

Pisces: Get after it while the energy and the drive are still flowing. Knight of Wands can provide a big boost for you to take action on something that feels purposeful around this full moon. What has been building for you? You're heading on an adventure and you have the stamina and fire to go the distance. Ride this wave. Take on the challenge. Say yes to the opportunity. Go for it. If the energy is held back, beware of it driving you to impulsive behavior and a hot temper. The key is transforming your enthusiasm into action.
